Published in 1915 shortly after Brooke’s death on active service, this volume opens with the five sonnets of 1914, including The Soldier. It also gathers the poems he wrote in the South Seas, other lyrics, and The Old Vicarage, Grantchester, his nostalgic hymn to Cambridgeshire.
The book that made Brooke the emblem of a generation, read today alongside the very different poets who came after. Download the free EPUB.
