Fifteen-year-old Pamela Andrews, a maidservant in a Bedfordshire household, writes home to her poor parents as her late mistress’s son, Mr. B., pursues her with flattery, tricks and finally confinement at his Lincolnshire estate. Through letters and a secret journal she records every assault on her virtue and every refusal.
A landmark of the English novel that provoked parodies, including Fielding’s Shamela. Download the free EPUB.
