The painter Felix Moscheles recalls the youthful months he shared with George du Maurier as art students in Antwerp, when both were poor, high-spirited and in love with their work. The memoir paints their friends, landladies, models and escapades, and was finished just before news of du Maurier’s death in 1896 reached Moscheles in Venice.
A warm portrait of the artist and novelist before fame, for admirers of Trilby and Punch. Download the free EPUB.
