The third annual volume of the O. Henry Memorial Award gathers the stories its committee judged the best published in American magazines that year, from Edison Marshall’s jungle tale “The Heart of Little Shikara” to work by Wilbur Daniel Steele, Sophie Kerr, Mildred Cram and Courtney Ryley Cooper. An introduction by Blanche Colton Williams explains how the stories were chosen.
