Verses by the American publisher better known to generations of children as Peter Parley. The collection opens with a fairy tale of elves flying from Ireland to America and the birth-night of the humming birds, then ranges over Lake Superior, falling leaves, a surf sprite, the first frost of autumn, the sea-bird, bubbles, dreams and the King of Terrors.
Gentle, fanciful early American verse, of interest to students of nineteenth-century poetry and children’s literature. Download the free EPUB.
