Every weekday evening at six, little Mr. Mapleson comes down the steps of the elevated railway and trudges home to Mrs. Tilney’s boarding house, where after sixteen years nobody knows much about him. His fellow lodgers, an inheritance, and a young woman caught between suitors from very different worlds set this New York story of money, class and courtship in motion.
A brisk, sentimental city novel of 1916 for readers who like their romance mixed with boarding-house character comedy. Download the free EPUB.
