Dods insists at the start that Genesis is no textbook of astronomy or geology, and reads it instead for its religious meaning. Chapter by chapter he moves through Creation, the Fall, Cain and Abel, the Flood, the call of Abraham and the stories of Isaac, Jacob and Joseph, drawing lessons for the reader’s own life.
Thoughtful Victorian preaching on Scripture’s first book, still prized by readers of devotional commentary. Download the free EPUB.
