Presented as the journal of Nathan Crowninshield, a Salem lad who shipped with his comrade Simon Ropes aboard the private-armed ship America, this yarn follows a privateering cruise against British shipping. Omens and ghosts, a stern chase, a lively scrimmage and the counting of captured prisoners fill the voyage.
A brisk introduction to American privateering for young readers, from a prolific author of historical tales. Download the free EPUB.
