As Philip II’s Spain tries to crush heresy and independence in the Low Countries, a young Englishman enters the service of William the Silent and is sent on dangerous missions among spies, sieges and the Inquisition’s lists of suspects. Henty’s preface frames the Dutch struggle as one of history’s most unequal and stubborn contests.
A classic Henty adventure that teaches the Eighty Years’ War through a boy’s eyes. Download the free EPUB.
