Tommy is sick of chores and sure the world is horrid, until he finds a wishing-stone in the pasture. Each wish turns him into a creature of field and wood, from Thunderer the Ruffed Grouse and a mink to a red squirrel, Honker the goose and a furry engineer, and he comes home with new respect for them all.
Burgess’s gentle nature lessons at their best, with Harrison Cady’s pictures. Download the free EPUB.
