The author of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm and her sister, both pioneers of the kindergarten, collected and wrote these stories to be read or told to small children. They include an oriole’s nest, Dicky Smiley’s birthday, Moufflou the dog, Benjy in Beastland, the boy who loved the porcelain stove, the Babes in the Wood and stories of Christmas and the first Thanksgiving.
