Kate Caergwent, an imaginative orphan living happily with her clergyman uncle’s family, suddenly becomes a countess when a distant cousin dies. Taken to London by two stern great-aunts who mean to make her a proper young lady, she chafes against lessons, rules and loneliness, gets into scrape after scrape, and longs for her old home.
A funny, touching Victorian story of a girl too honest for high society, from the author of The Heir of Redclyffe. Download the free EPUB.
