Four very short stories in which narrators calmly recount killing their parents and relations: a son proud of the artistry of his mother’s murder, a boy whose family runs a dog-oil and baby-boiling business, an arsonist with a family problem, and a hypnotist who practises on his elders. The violence is cartoonish and the joke is always on respectable morality.
Bierce’s blackest comedy, best for readers who enjoy their satire very dark indeed. Download the free EPUB.
