While researching O. Henry’s years in Texas, Mary Sunlocks Harrell found in the files of the Houston Post the humorous stories, sketches and verses he wrote for the paper before his fame, along with his own illustrations. They include “A Night Errant”, “The Dissipated Jeweler”, “The Mirage on the Frio” and comic newspaper squibs.
Early, high-spirited work that shows the master of the twist ending learning his trade. Download the free EPUB.
