A Pennsylvania farmer’s restless second son discovers that he can throw his voice and uses the trick to escape the drudgery of the fields. His gift draws the attention of Ludloe, a cultivated Irishman with plans for a secret society and a utopian scheme, who demands total confession as the price of his patronage.
An unfinished prequel to Wieland from one of the first American novelists, fascinating for readers of early Gothic fiction. Download the free EPUB.
