Orphaned twins Anna-Rose and Anna-Felicitas, English by mother and German by father, are packed off from Liverpool in 1916 on an American liner. Calling themselves Christopher and Columbus, they set out to discover America, aided by a melancholy, kind-hearted fellow passenger named Mr. Twist when their arrangements fall apart.
Gentle, funny and clever, a comedy of wartime displacement by the author of The Enchanted April. Download the free EPUB.
