Judge Edward Abbott Parry retells Cervantes for younger readers, keeping the knight’s first sally, his comic knighting at the inn, the windmills, the two flocks he takes for armies, Sancho’s tossing in a blanket and the tales of Cardenio and others met on the road. The book was written to accompany Walter Crane’s illustrations.
