Mrs. Warren’s new lodger pays well but is never seen; he takes his meals on a tray and leaves notes printed in capital letters. Holmes is at first reluctant to help, but soon a coded light is flashing from a window opposite and the trail leads to an Italian couple in London and a ruthless secret society.
