A selection of Hume’s shorter essays, with a biographical introduction by Hannaford Bennett. They take up the delicacy of taste and passion, the liberty of the press, whether politics may be reduced to a science, the first principles and origin of government, parties in Great Britain, superstition and enthusiasm, civil liberty and eloquence.
Hume at his most approachable: short, urbane pieces that still reward anyone interested in politics and human nature. Download the free EPUB.
