War reaches the African interior in 1914, and a column of German officers and askaris leaves Tarzan’s estate in ruins. The ape-man turns his jungle craft against the Kaiser’s troops, stalking the German lines with a hungry lion, then follows a trail north through desert and forest that brings him to a British spy, a downed aeroplane and a lost city.
Burroughs at his most savage, with a First World War backdrop that sets this Tarzan apart from the rest of the series. Download the free EPUB.
