In Jerusalem after the First World War, a newly arrived American is told to look for a man named Grim. James Schuyler Grim, an American serving in British intelligence who passes easily as an Arab, draws him into a scheme to keep the peace east of the Jordan, with night marches, Hebron thieves, sheikhs and a dangerous journey to El-Kerak.
The first of Mundy’s Jimgrim adventures, rich in Middle Eastern detail and sly humour, though its outlook on the region is that of the 1920s. Download the free EPUB.
