Barry Dunbar is only a missionary among lumbermen and settlers in the Canadian north, uncertain of his calling and once rejected for service. When the war drum calls, he goes overseas as a chaplain with the men of the north, and the novel follows him into the trenches, where faith and courage are tested under fire.
A heartfelt wartime novel by the Canadian minister-novelist who served as a chaplain himself, for readers of First World War fiction. Download the free EPUB.
