The 1st London Territorial Division was formed in France in 1916 and went straight into the diversionary attack on the Gommecourt Salient on the first day of the Somme. The history follows its battalions through the Somme, Arras, Ypres and Cambrai, the German offensive of March 1918 and the final advance.
