Donald Hankey, who had worked among the poor of Bermondsey before enlisting, wrote these essays on the good and bad sides of military life, on courage, fear and faith, and on the men he served with. The volume adds extracts from his letters to his sister and a memoir of the author, who was killed on the Somme in October 1916.
Thoughtful reflections from a Christian soldier, complete in themselves and a companion to Hankey’s first series. Download the free EPUB.
