William Watson, who had served as a despatch rider in 1914, took command of a company of the new tanks in late 1916. He describes the improvisation of training, the costly first and second battles of Bullecourt in 1917 and the mud of Third Ypres around St. Julien, with dry humour and close knowledge of his crews.
One of the best first-hand accounts of early tank warfare. Download the free EPUB.
