Collected from across Europe and beyond, these stories include Snow-White and Rosy-Red, Argilius and the Flame-King, the Prince of the Glow-Worms, Prince Chaffinch, the Dragon-Giant and his stone steed, and the Indian tale of Siva and Madhava. A spirited preface defends the fairy tale against the stiff utilitarians who had dismissed it as idle.
A Victorian collection notable for Richard Doyle’s illustrations, for readers of older fairy lore. Download the free EPUB.
