Bob Orde, son of a Michigan lumber king, comes west to work in his father’s timber interests in the Sierra Nevada of California. There he falls in with the new Forest Service and its rangers, and discovers that the lumber trade, the land schemers and a power company each play by rules quite different from those he now chooses to follow.
A big Western of forests and conservation by one of the most popular outdoor novelists of the 1910s. Download the free EPUB.
