Old Applehead Furrman rides home across the New Mexico mesa at roundup time, and his ranch soon fills again with the Happy Family, cowboys turned motion-picture actors. When Annie-Many-Ponies, a young Sioux woman who works with the company, sets out on her own, a stolen red automobile and a gang of rustlers lead to a real-life chase.
A good-humoured Flying U Western by one of the genre’s leading women writers; its portrayal of Native characters reflects its era. Download the free EPUB.
