Sent off by stage-coach with his father’s advice to act like a gentleman and his mother’s about flannel waistcoats, Frank Fairlegh joins a tutor’s household as a private pupil. Practical jokes, a boating party, a ball, the troublesome Lawless and the irrepressible Slingsby crowd a long, cheerful novel of early Victorian youth.
A favourite of Victorian readers, with George Cruikshank’s illustrations adding to the fun. Download the free EPUB.
