Henry Aylwin loves Winifred Wynne, the daughter of a drunken organist, but a curse laid on a cross taken from a grave seems to fall on her, and she vanishes. His search runs from the crumbling cliffs of the east coast to the mountains of Snowdonia, helped by the Romany girl Sinfi Lovell and the painter D’Arcy.
A best-selling romance of 1898 whose painter character is drawn from Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Download the free EPUB.
