A return to the Sicily of the author’s earlier Diversions in Sicily. Festing Jones describes changes in a small town, a postponed festa, and long evenings with the marionette players of Palermo, Catania and Trapani, retelling the paladin plays of Malagigi and Argantino and the escape from Paris, along with notes on the mafia’s old code of courage and silence.
Affectionate, idiosyncratic travel writing for lovers of Sicily and its puppet theatre. Download the free EPUB.
