Part of the Library of Work and Play, this book teaches metalwork through a story: an elevator boy admires a friend’s copper box and is taken to the neighbourhood blacksmith to learn the craft. Step by step the boys make bowls, trays, a paper cutter and a nut set in copper, then move to the forge for bending, shaping and welding iron with borax flux.
A practical and engaging introduction to an old craft, for young makers and their parents. Download the free EPUB.
