Lambert was a doctor on the Canadian Pacific and fished the province before most of it had been named: the rainbow trout and its distribution, the cut-throat and the Dolly Varden, the salmon runs, the lakes and rivers of the interior, and the practicalities of getting to any of them in 1907.
