Big Cloud is a division point of the Transcontinental System in the western mountains, and these linked stories follow its engineers, firemen, dispatchers and superintendents. A young nephew fights to prove himself as superintendent, a guardian watches over the Devil’s Slide, and wrecks, runaways and crooked clerks test every man on the line.
Railroad fiction by the Canadian author of the Jimmie Dale mysteries, steeped in the lore of the mountain line. Download the free EPUB.
