As the fool of the family, Peter Simple is packed off to sea as a midshipman in the Royal Navy during the wars with France. Naive and trusting, he is gulled ashore and teased aboard, but in boat actions, captures and shipwrecks, and in his friendship with the Irish officer O’Brien, he slowly earns his place.
One of the classic Royal Navy novels, written by a captain who had himself served as a midshipman under Lord Cochrane. Download the free EPUB.
