Bowen Tyler’s manuscript has reached California, and his friend Tom Billings leads a rescue expedition to Caspak, the lost island of dinosaurs and evolving tribes. Flying in alone, he is brought down among its beasts and finds himself protecting Ajor, a girl of a more advanced tribe, as they cross from one stage of human development to another.
