Presented as a translation from an ancient Welsh bard named Cadwallo, this pastoral romance is set among the shepherds of Druid Britain. Imogen loves the shepherd Edwin, but the wealthy enchanter Roderic carries her off to his palace and tries every temptation of riches and magic, which she resists with unshakeable virtue.
An early novel by Godwin, written before Political Justice and Caleb Williams, a curiosity for students of the radical author. Download the free EPUB.
