When the Abbé Raynal’s history of the American Revolution was reprinted in Philadelphia, Paine answered it in 1782. He corrects Raynal’s facts about the causes of the war, the Declaration of Independence, the conduct of Congress and the French alliance, quotes official correspondence, and argues that the Revolution grew from principle rather than a quarrel over taxes.
A spirited defence of the American cause by its most famous pamphleteer. Download the free EPUB.
