During a winter at Davos, Stevenson and his young stepson Lloyd Osbourne ran a toy printing press, turning out tiny books of mock-solemn verse illustrated with woodcuts. This collection gathers those rhymes, from “Not I” to the two sets of moral emblems and a martial elegy for some lead soldiers, with a preface in the voice of the boy publisher.
A playful side of Stevenson that delights anyone who loves A Child’s Garden of Verses. Download the free EPUB.
