Peter Fabel, a scholar-magician of Edmonton, helps young Raymond Mounchensey win Millisent Clare, whose father means to wed her elsewhere and has sent her to a nunnery at Cheston. Disguises, a night of deer-poaching in Enfield Chase by the knights and the comic Smug the smith, an inn-keeping host and a meeting in Enfield churchyard fill a brisk comedy once bound with Shakespeare’s works.
A lively Elizabethan comedy for readers of the Shakespeare apocrypha and early English stage. Download the free EPUB.
