In her Devonshire country house one April, Belinda Tremayne enjoys the devotion of two hopeless suitors: Harold Baxter, a solemn and literal-minded man, and Claude Devenish, a young poet. Her daughter Delia joins her, and so, unannounced, does Belinda’s husband John, who vanished from her life years before. A light three-act comedy first staged in London in 1918 with Irene Vanbrugh.
A sunny example of Milne’s stage comedy, written years before Winnie-the-Pooh made him famous. Download the free EPUB.
