Joseph Arthur Gibbs lived at Ablington in the Cotswolds and wrote this book about its life shortly before his early death at thirty-one. He describes the village and its characters, the local dialect and old songs, gallops over stone walls, cricket and hunting, the birds and wildlife, and ancient remains such as the long barrows on the wolds.
An affectionate portrait of rural England that has long been a favourite of Cotswold lovers. Download the free EPUB.
