Published under a comic pseudonym, this early printed collection lists hundreds of Scots proverbs alphabetically, in their own spelling: “He that tholes, overcomes,” “He that is evil deem’d is half hang’d.” Archer Taylor’s introduction places it among the Scottish collections made before and after it.
Salty, shrewd and often funny, a pocket of old Scots wisdom for anyone who loves proverbs or the Scots tongue. Download the free EPUB.
