Haggard opens with two sparks of eternal energy taking human form, and follows them as Godfrey Knight, a dreamy clergyman’s son, and Isobel Blake, a wealthy neighbour’s daughter, grow up together in England. Separated by family pride, schooling in Switzerland and the attentions of a sinister spiritualist, Madame Riennes, they must hold to a love meant to outlast death.
A late, mystical romance that shows Haggard’s fascination with reincarnation and the spirit world. Download the free EPUB.
