Written for Vanity Fair in the voice of an imaginary Indian dignitary, Sir Ali Baba, K.C.B., these sketches poke affectionate fun at the official world of British India: the Viceroy and his aide-de-camp, the Commander-in-Chief, the Archdeacon, the Secretary to Government and many more. This edition adds the author’s Teapot Series from The Bombay Gazette of 1880.
