The Glugs of Gosh are a stolid people who do what they are told, admire the Swanks who rule them and distrust anyone who thinks. Into their city is born Sym, son of Joi, a mender of pots and maker of rhymes, and his story becomes a comic verse satire on politics, conformity and the trade of nations, with Emily Ann and a little red dog.
