A slim collection of comic fables and short poems in which the natural world misbehaves: an earthquake too shy to shake, a lovesick scarecrow, a doorless wolf, a bold bad butterfly and the feeble but resourceful bunnies. Between the nonsense come a few gentler lyrics and epigrams, all in Herford’s neat, punning style.
Light American verse with a sly wit, ideal for reading aloud in small doses. Download the free EPUB.
