A collection of short comic pieces from the frontier newspaperman, with Frederick Opper’s drawings. Nye writes on his cat, the Rocky Mountain cow, sawmills, experiments with old cheese, rag carpets, the champion mean man, preserving eggs and the man who interrupts, all in a deadpan voice. A few jokes rely on the ethnic stereotypes of the 1880s.
