Published in 1914 as Indian troops sailed for France, this Daily Telegraph war book recounts actions by the Rajputs, Sikhs, Gurkhas, Pathans and other regiments of the Indian Army, from early campaigns under the East India Company to frontier wars, with the King-Emperor’s message to his Indian soldiers.
A record of imperial pride; its attitudes are those of Britain in 1914, but the regimental history is detailed. Download the free EPUB.
