Yonge gathers biographies of English and American missionaries of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries: John Eliot among the Algonquians, David Brainerd, Schwartz at Tanjore, Henry Martyn, William Carey and Joshua Marshman at Serampore, the Judsons in Burma and others in India, Africa and the Pacific.
Written for a Victorian Sunday readership, it remains a handy gallery of the missionary movement. Download the free EPUB.
